Our Mission is "Building family and community literacy one book at a time." We have just achieved a new major milestone-- 50,000 books redistributed throughout the community--One book at a time!
This school year, we provided over 6,500 books through our in-school program to the children at Harlem Heights Community Charter School. Through our Take-a-Book-Tuesday program, we read aloud to every class once a month and offer each child free, culturally relevant, and age-appropriate books to take home and add to their at-home library. We also regularly re-stock our 14 Free Book Boxes, located throughout the community, with a wide variety of primarily children's book titles. A love of reading is critically important to the development and success of every child. Reading is the basis of all learning. We express our sincere gratitude for your financial support and the books you have donated. These contributions have allowed us to redistribute books throughout the community, making a real difference. We are working hard to ensure that every child has the reading material and encouragement they need to support their growth as someone "who loves to read."
Providing literacy resources, education and programs to enrich lives and build community.
Through its programs, And Literacy For All's goal is to communicate awareness of the gap between public perception and the true literacy deficiency within our community and to provide ways to promote a literate citizenry.
Help us spread our programs to more neighborhoods! Please donate.
